Advancing occupational therapy through cutting-edge research and evidence-based practice
Our faculty and students are actively involved in diverse research areas
Research focusing on early intervention strategies, developmental disorders, and innovative therapeutic approaches for children with special needs.
Studies on neurological rehabilitation, orthopedic conditions, and functional independence strategies for patients with mobility impairments.
Exploring occupational therapy interventions for mental health conditions, psychosocial rehabilitation, and community-based mental health programs.
Research on aging, dementia care, fall prevention, and quality of life enhancement strategies for elderly populations.
Investigating sensory processing disorders and developing evidence-based sensory integration therapy protocols.
Development and validation of standardized assessment tools and outcome measures for occupational therapy practice.
Current research initiatives led by our faculty and students
A comprehensive study examining the effectiveness of sensory integration therapy in improving functional outcomes, behavioral patterns, and social engagement in children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The research employs standardized assessment tools and long-term follow-up protocols.
This project aims to develop and evaluate community-based rehabilitation models for stroke survivors, focusing on improving accessibility, cost-effectiveness, and long-term functional outcomes. The study includes home-based therapy protocols and caregiver training programs.
A landmark study that demonstrated significant improvements in quality of life indicators among elderly participants receiving structured occupational therapy interventions. The findings have been published in the International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry.
Our faculty's contributions to occupational therapy research literature
This randomized controlled trial investigated the efficacy of constraint-induced movement therapy (CIMT) in improving upper extremity function among chronic stroke patients. Results showed significant improvements in motor function and daily living activities.
A cross-sectional study examining sensory processing patterns in children with developmental coordination disorder (DCD). The research provides insights into the relationship between sensory deficits and motor coordination challenges.
A comprehensive systematic review evaluating the effectiveness of occupational therapy interventions in managing anxiety disorders. The review highlights evidence-based practices and recommends future research directions.
This study presents the development and validation of a culturally appropriate functional independence measure specifically designed for the Indian population, addressing the limitations of existing Western assessment tools.
